Bedrooms: Shared Dorms or Private Rooms

Newtown Backpackers offers budget styly accommodation rooms to suit your budget, needs and travel group. No matter how you like to travel, our hostel in Newtown can accommodate you with a range of spacious dorm rooms (including female-only dorms), intimate private rooms and rooms that host just a few friends.

TV Room

Overlooking the pool area, our massive TV room features a two-tiered grandstand with plenty of comfy cushions for you to watch movies and shows on our 65-inch flat-screen smart TV. Every Sunday, we host a movie night with free popcorn so you can kick back and relax with your new hostel friends after a busy weekend. For our avid readers, we also have an abundance of books.

Laundry

All our guests are welcome to use our laundry facilities, open 24/7, located next to reception on the ground floor. Our commercial-grade machines cost $4 per wash and $4 per dry, and we have washing powder available at reception for 50¢.

Kitchen & Dining Area

Newtown Backpackers is always prepared for guests who are hungry after a day of exploring Sydney. We have a large open-plan kitchen and dining area on the ground floor, featuring several stove cooktops, microwaves, toasters and kettles.

Reception can provide a box to store your food in one of the many fridges and all the cutlery and plates you need.
